How to Make Thanksgiving Sushi

The Thanksgiving season is upon us, which means turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and probably a whole lot of leftovers. For many people, this means living off of turkey sandwiches for at least a day or so. If you’re looking for something different, though, consider a batch of the Vulgar Chef’s Thanksgiving sushi.

Though far from traditionally Japanese, Thanksgiving sushi can be a hearty way to get rid of your extra food this holiday season. The Vulgar Chef starts his sushi with crispy turkey skin, which takes the place of the nori seaweed wrap. The rice is replaced with a bed of leftover stuffing, which is then topped with scraps of turkey and cranberry sauce. The whole thing is then rolled up, makizushi-style, and topped with gravy. Mix your leftover mashed potatoes with wasabi for a fitting accompaniment!

Once the leftovers have past and you’re in the mood for a more authentic sushi experience, you can count on Sushi Hana to deliver. Come to our Bothell Japanese restaurant for a few of your Japanese favorites!
