The Environmentally-Friendly Albacore

Do you like albacore? This member of the tuna family is well-loved for its rich, creamy taste. At our Bothell Japanese restaurant, you can enjoy albacore in several varieties, including our standard albacore nigiri and our seared garlic albacore nigiri.

If you’re a fan of albacore, there is good news. This fish is considered to be one of the more environmentally-friendly species of fish. First of all, albacore populations are found in abundance throughout the oceans and the Mediterranean sea. There are some concerns that overfishing may soon prove to be a problem in some regions, but the fish does seem to be more sustainable than certain other tuna species.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the albacore is not known to intermingle with dolphins frequently, as other tuna often do. This means that they can be harvested from the ocean with very little risk to dolphins.
